Newmarket Art Walk & Studio Tour

SATURDAY OCTOBER 13TH 10AM-5PM & SUNDAY OCTOBER 14TH 11AM-5PM

In 2008, five Newmarket artists came together and organized an art show centered around historic Main Street. This marked the beginning of the NGA (Newmarket Group of Artists), and our signature event – The Art Walk & Studio Tour. This annual, juried art show is walkable event located at the Old Town Hall & Community Centre, Main Street restaurants & businesses, and artist home studios. This year we celebrate a decade of countless artists, volunteers, sponsors, and art enthusiasts coming together to promote arts & culture in our town. This October 13th & 14th, join the NGA and this year’s 36 juried artists at the 10th Annual Newmarket Art Walk & Studio Tour.

I am so excited to be a part of this wonderful group of artists and will be showing my work at the Old Town Hall, alongside several other amazing artists.

Cabbagetown Art & Crafts, and the annual sale it presents, was founded by Randy Brown in 1988, and he still runs it today. Located in Riverdale Park West, which is in Cabbagetown in the heart of downtown, it is the oldest and prettiest park in Toronto. The sale takes place on the second weekend of September on the same weekend as the Cabbagetown Festival. There is no admission fee and it is readily accessible by TTC.

The Cabbagetown Art & Crafts is a not-for-profit corporation which benefits many local charitable organizations in various ways. The aim of CA&C is to encourage appreciation of the visual arts, to give artists a place to sell their work, and to foster community spirit.

Exhibitors line the walkways of Riverdale Park with their tents and tens of thousands of people stroll the walkways to view the wares. Overarching trees provide shade, there are park benches for family picnics and ample food for sale. All in all, it is a wonderful community event. Come, be part of it.
